Today, at the craft store, I bought a pack of white dishtowels to embroider/cross-stitch.
So, I'm looking for World of Warcraft embroidery patterns, or drawings that would easily translate to a pattern. This is definitely something I could do myself (and will be doing for myself), but I would love to see the different perspectives other players have on cool things from the game. Locations, buildings, maps, abilities, gear, items, just-for-fun gear and items, recipes, characters, mobs, NPCs of all sorts, symbols?
I'm a Tauren hunter, so I'm going to be looking at Tauren stuff and pet stuff, as well as the Horde symbol, but I'd love to see what you all come up with!
If you do WoW crafts (and I know some of you do), post them!
( Murlocs...cuter than you'd expect )
I recently got a new car (a B.A. Station Wagon, thank you) and I'm working on pimpin' it out, so to speak.
I checked the memories and I couldn't find anything specifically relating to it, so I was wondering:
What are some fairly cheap ways you've tricked out your rides?
haha. And I'm talking cute, awesome, funky, crafty ways you've made your vehicles your own.
Not just Wal*Mart seat covers and dice in the mirror.
Dear fellow DK tanks,
I have run with several of you over the past few days since my priest alt started hitting Hellfire Ramparts and I want to applaud your sincerity, good attitude, and team-player mentality. As members of this much-maligned class we need to stick together and in that spirit I'd like to offer just a few helpful tints.
( And here they be... )
So my puppy finally destroyed one of his soft toys and got the squeaker out of it, so toy went in trash and squeaks in my pocket to torment pooch who was looking for toy, sorry cheap entertainment...
Any way...I had a thought, could i use this squeaker as a replacement for a clicker? I've never done any clicker training before and dont really know how to use one but could this 'toy' be a good addition to our training? pup struggles with the 'ADD factor' as ive dubbed it, we get distracted very easy and cant focus for long periods. So i was thinking this attention grabber/reward could be a good tool for us. What do you all think?
Sorry this was so mumbo-jumbo its late for my tired, post-exams, not knowing if im still in program at school, holiday stress brain.... :)
Hi there, just wanted to ask for some tips about changes in my dog's behavior.
My dog is a hound mix that is about 1 and 1/2 years old. I take her to my dog park every other day, where she plays perfectly with other dogs (the place where I board her and let her have doggy play groups even uses her to make less unfriendly dogs more comfortable). She just wants to play, play, play.
She used to be this way with other people as well. After initially barking at someone at the door, she would quickly warm to strangers if she could tell I was at ease around them.
But now, she goes way overboard on the barking and even snaps at guests who have been to the house a number of times. Perhaps it's just because these repeat guests aren't her biggest fans? But she knows who they are. But, sometimes she will bark and bark and kind of growl, then calm down and lick the person, then get suspicious and bark again.
This kind of aggressive, protective behavior seems to be getting worse. She will warm to a new person being here then if the person moves into another room, she might chase after them, even trying to jump on them while barking.
This is not behavior I am used to seeing from her as a puppy. As an older dog, she seems to be getting a lot more mouthy. I thought her behavior and lack of aggression was something I had a handle on.
Any advice?

Hum! Bryan's eating habits has been odd the last couple of weeks or so. At times he'll eat fine, and other times he wouldn't eat his food (but will eat anything else!). One night I added some water to his food, wondering if perhaps he had a tooth that might've been bugging him and the food was just too hard. But he ate hard rawhide just fine, no signs of pain or anything. Then I got to wondering if it was the food, so I went to PetCo and bought a small bag of Natural Balance (I've been feeding him Purina One lamb and rice for a few months now, and he didn't have any problems with this food before) just last night. He ate up the Natural Balance kibbles, and left the Purina kibble behind in the bowl (or on the floor).
Today, I gave him Natural Balance only, and he barely touched it. I even added in some Purina and mixed it up, and again he barely touched it all day. An hour ago, after several more attempts of trying to get him to eat from his bowl and he refused, I hand-fed him. I still tried to encourage him to eat from his bowl, and he just backed away from it. But he ate both Natural Balance and Purina from my hand with no problems. So now I'm wondering... did something happen one day when he was eating from the metal bowl? Did he perhaps somehow get his tongue stuck to the bowl on one of the really cold days outside? Bryan likes to have his water first before he eats so... his tongue getting stuck would make sense.
A cousin of mine commented on my status on facebook and said her dog was similar with the eating habits (not wanting to eat out of the bowl, etc.) until she figured her dog had a wheat allergy. I don't know if that's what's going on with Bryan, if he's got allergies or if he's just had some sort of traumatic experience with metal bowls. I don't know. I've fed Bryan 4 different brands of dog food since I adopted him in July 2008 (I bought the brand that the Humane Society had been feeding him and I slowly switched him out to Natural Balance, and later switched over to Nature's Recipe, then Purina One just a few months ago since it was a bit cheaper and I've been struggling to make ends meet).
I'm going to try using a plastic bowl tomorrow and see if that makes a difference for him. If not, then I'll probably call the vet and see what they think might be going on. He ate fine when I hand-fed him tonight, and he still gobbles up his treats and whatever food droppings and crumbs off the kitchen floor and stuff like that (he's practically the food vacuum!). I've checked his mouth, I don't see any inflammations or anything, and he's been eating up treats with no problems or signs of pain (and they're the same hardness/crunchiness as the kibble), etc. I'm doing what I can to make sure he's eating and happy and healthy. He was deemed completely healthy at his recent vet check-up 2 Friday's ago.
Just wondering if any of you guys dealt with something similar to what I'm dealing with right now with Bryan. Sorry this is so long.

collar/leash(extra collar)
food bowels
grooming/dental stuff
treat pouch/treats
clicker
Pet Gates

blanket w/ mom's scent
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
All of the fabric is either leftovers from other projects, recycled, purchased at a 2nd-hand store, discount ends or out of the 3-for-1 bin at the fabric store. All of the stuffing was purchased at various 2nd-hand stores as well. Don't worry, I only used the unopened bags!

Hi everyone,
I searched for other entries on this and didn't find any, but my apologies if I missed something. I have a female beagle/pug who will be 13 months old on Christmas. I crate her when I go to work for the day, but my boyfriend and I work different shifts, so she's not usually in for more than a couple of hours. She'd been doing great from the time we got her until mid-October, when she started pooping in the crate while we were gone. I know this isn't supposed to be normal behaviour, so we started making extra sure she went before we put her in the crate etc, but it didn't seem to help.
I consulted a professional dog trainer, who advised me that I should put the partition back in the crate. She also said if I came home and found poop in the crate I should ignore her for a few minutes and then speak sternly to her. I tried all of these things, and she started having MORE accidents. It has now gone from a couple of times a week to almost daily.
I came home today and there was a huge mess. She had only been in the crate for about 90 minutes, but it was all over the crate, the dog, the floor and all over me when I took her out. I'm at my wits end. Can anyone suggest ANYTHING else I can do?
edit: Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
A bit OT, but I thought this was funny.
I saw this title in a recent yahoo group digest email:
Toy/Food drive
and was interested in reading the post and comments. Until I realized it was a non-dog yahoo group and was a post about a charity drive.
I think I have too much dog on the brain. Is that possible? Nah!

I've recently learned to weave, and just completed my fourth project about a week ago.

Here are a couple things I've made lately.
( cut to save you from big pictures )
current mood: happy
Well, that was fun. If only every game was like this...
(Maybe it is, if you're a Colts fan).
These were the Giants I remember. The swarming aggressive D, the sacks, the knockdowns, the hurries, the interceptions, runners tackled at the line of scrimmage. And on offense, long time-consuming drives ending in touchdowns. Eli looked terrific, spreading the ball around. Nicks, Smith, Manningham, and Boss all had big catches, and even Derek Hagan scored a touchdown. The running game was back, especially when Ahmad Bradshaw had the ball. The O line opened gaping holes, and the D line was so relentless that our wafer-thin secondary was never threatened.
Yeah, these were the real G-Men.
I have no idea who those clowns in the Redskins uniforms were.
That fake field goal the Skins tried at the end of the first half had to be one of the most bizarre plays I've ever seen. Watching Steve Young talk about it in the postgame was hilarious.
I do feel sorry for Jim Zorn, whose postgame press conference was... well, obviously, no one ever taught the guy Coachspeak. Poor guy is not long for D.C.
But it was a great win.
Now we need two more like it, coupled with a Cowboys loss.
(Or a Packers loss, maybe... but while I know the G-Men have the tiebreaker over Dallas, no one has ever mentioned who wins a tie between New York and Green Bay).
Next week, the Panthers. Who beat the Vikings yesterday. Let's hope the real G-Men show up.
